About us
The Stewing Pot was opened in April 2005 by Stuart and his wife Vikki. Having lived and worked in the area since 1998 they felt it was time to do something on their own. Stuart has been a chef for over 18 years and is proud to be a full member of the Master Chefs of Great Britain since 2002. He has worked in some of the finest hotels and restaurants in the UK and his great passion for food and wine makes him take the sourcing of his ingredients very seriously. Stuart often visits the suppliers and farms before giving them the Stewing Pot seal of approval.
The Stewing Pot restaurant was recently commended at the Hereford Food Festival for our commitment to using local produce in their awards scheme, we were proud to be asked to provide a demonstration again this year. Pictures are in our gallery, a surprise box of local game and ingredients was provided for Stuart to come up with something special.
Stuart also writes a cookery problem page for Wye Valley Life magazine and lives in Ludlow with his wife Vikki and two sons Thomas and Oliver.
